Veneers in Pearland, TX

What are veneers?

Veneers are one of the most popular treatments in cosmetic dentistry. They’re thin, ceramic shells that look and feel just like better versions of your natural teeth.

Veneers are permanently affixed to the front-facing portion of your teeth, where they instantly upgrade your smile by covering up cracks, chips, discoloration, and many other cosmetic imperfections.

How do veneers improve my smile?

By covering up the surfaces of your teeth, veneers treat a wide range of cosmetic conditions, like:

  • Cracks
  • Chips
  • Worn surfaces
  • Widely spaced teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Discoloration that hasn’t responded to professional whitening treatments

In some cases, veneers can even be used for non-cosmetic purposes, like strengthening a tooth that has suffered minor damage.

Why should I get veneers?

Your smile is your personal calling card. It’s how you greet friends, meet new acquaintances, and present yourself to the world. Veneers provide a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of your smile, thereby boosting your confidence and enhancing your presentation of yourself to the world.

Veneers also have a number of benefits compared with other restorative procedures, like:

  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Stain resistance
  • Cost effectiveness
  • Incredibly natural appearance

Veneers also don’t require you to remove as much enamel from your teeth as crowns and bridges do.

What’s the process for getting veneers?

Your journey with veneers begins with a consultation. You and Dr. Burges discuss your cosmetic goals and select a size, shape, and color for your veneers that best complements the aesthetic features of your face.

Next, Dr. Burges shaves a thin layer of enamel from the front of your teeth to make room for the veneers. She then takes an impression of your teeth that she sends off to a lab, where your veneers will be made. This typically takes 10-14 days. Dr. Burges fits you with temporary veneers while you wait for your permanent set.

Once your permanent veneers are ready, you come back to Dr. Burges for a second appointment. She removes your temporary veneers, cleans your mouth, and places your permanent veneers on one-by-one. After ensuring that you and she are both satisfied with the veneers’ fit, shape, size, and color, she permanently seals them to your teeth with dental cement.

You leave the office with a stunning smile that you’ll finally be excited to share with the world!
